Dear Sir/Madam,
As a resident in Wales (Pembrokeshire), I am emailing to register my complete opposition to the proposals in the above bill. At a time when financial pressures have required cutbacks to services in Wales, the NHS in Wales is the worst performing of all the UK nations and the current Welsh Government has seen fit to waste over £30m of public money on a disastrous speed limit reduction, the suggestion that the Senedd should be expanded is an insult. To add injury to this insult, I note the proposal to reduce direct accountability, by moving to closed list proportional representation. The expansion will come at massive expense, both directly in terms of the employment costs for a further 36 members and associated extra staff, residual pensions etc, and indirectly through the cost of additional real-estate and infrastructure needed to house the expanded Senedd. I object strongly to this and sincerely hope that the bill fails.
Yours faithfully,
N I Astley MBE
